ABOUT KIERAN COMERFORD

Kieran Comerford founded Comerford Technology Management Ltd. in 1988. He had previously worked for Philips and ACEC before joining the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards (now part of Enterprise Ireland), where he worked in R&D and intellectual property management.

He qualified in Electrical Engineering at University College Dublin in 1965 and obtained an MBA there in 1978.

He is author of "How to Find and License New Products" and is well known as a lecturer and writer on the management of technology. He works with Dolmen Associates as a lecturer in their "Innovator" programme which trains R&D managers in industry. He also lectures at the National Institute of Technology Management at the Michael Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin. He has served twice as Chairman of the Irish section of the Licensing Executives Society (Britain and Ireland).

His other interests include Eastern philosophy, hill-walking and music. He is married to Lynda (Byrne) and has two children, Mark and Philip.
